Andrew M. Thomson is a Canadian historian. He studied at Wilfrid Laurier University starting in 1976, receiving a B.A. in 1980. He went on to earn an M.A. from Laurier and a Ph.D. at the University of Waterloo. After teaching his first course in Canadian History at Laurier in 1989, he has been employed there regularly as a contract academic. Thomson is a member of the Laurier Association for Lifelong Learning. In 2011 he was nominated for a Teaching Excellence Award at the Schulich School of Business at York University.
