Grimaldi identified as the author by Peter Haining in Movable books (New English Library, 1979), with a description of the later, uncolored edition.
11 plates are colored engravings of parts of a knight's armor, each in a gold frame. Each part of armor is on a flap which, when lifted up, reveals an illustration of a virtue. Also includes an illustrated added t.p., a final plate, and a plate titled, The tournament, signed H. Alken.
LC copy has original green cloth cover mounted inside lower board.
